Collect a Lease Registration Form from the Land Registry Section at the Department of Lands in Vila or Santo (Click here to download the application form). Complete the form and submit your application to the Land Registry Section.

A Registry Officer will find the file containing your title number.

a. After the title is found, an application number is alloted to the application.

b. If your application is for a new Lease, your application will be sent to the Land Survey Section for certification of the Survey Plan of your land.

If the Lease is approved, Registry will print a copy of the original application and your Registration Advice then send this to you or you could collect this from the Department of Lands.

If the Registry Officer is satisfied with the application, he submits this to the Principal Registry Officer (PRO) for approval or refusal of your application.

A Registry Officer then checks the application.

If your application is refused due to a problem in the application, the PRO will not approve the application but he will first inform you about it. You can fix the problem in your application and re-submit this to the PRO to re-check the application.
